You are bidding on a porcelain Rosenthal insect figurine. The best guess I can supply is that this is a type of beetle. Beautifully created and in mint condition, the insect is primarily a dark coffee bean brown in color with three stripes on its back: one thick black band between two thin goldenrod yellow bands. The insect is mounted to an off-white oblong base measuring 3.75"x2.5" (LxW), with a metallic gold patterned border. No visible damage or repairs of any kind. Normal age wear on underside rim. Finish is in excellent condition, although upon close inspection I noticed a slightly rough (very discreet) patch (~1/16" diam.) on insect's left shoulder. Almost appears to be something in the paint job. Metallic border is in mint condition with no visible damage or alterations. Imprinted on the underside of base has the name MOLDENHAUER and below that the sequence x18. A green stamp is located in the center bearing the emblem of a crown above two flowers (possibly roses) with stems crossed, the word Rosenthal in script, and in same script & smaller font: Bavania.
