Here is a very nice example of Roseville Pottery's Mid-century "Gardenia " floral-accented line, introduced in 1950. Roseville called the background color on this "Sea Foam Green", with a tan middle band around the white gardenias on two sides, transitioning to a darker green around the bottom. This vase is catalog shape #657-3.5". Here the 3.5" refers to the height of the vase. It is 4.25" at its widest, and rests on a 3" round circular base. It is marked "Roseville 657-3" in raised relief on the bottom (somewhat obscured by glaze).Condition: Very small (1/8" wide by 1/4" long) chip below the glaze line, in the unglazed base ring, and a small line of glaze flakes nearby on the bottom, in the finishing glaze, which was applied heavily (see photos #8-11). Crazing, visible under magnification with bright light. Some frosting to portions of the interior glaze--or it may be hard water calcium residue--you might see it in photo #6.I will be listing quite a few pieces of Roseville in the coming days, and am happy to combine shipping--just let me know. I start all my listings as true $0.99 auctions. Good luck bidding!
