This is a Roseville Donatello Hanging Basket. The basket is 5 inches tall with a 6 inch opening. The Donatello pattern was designed by Henry Rhead and made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Roseville, Ohio beginning in 1915. Rhead copied the decoration from a Czechoslovakian jardiniere. This is one of the earlier pieces as it has a matte glaze. The basket is pictured in "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Roseville Pottey" Second Series, by Sharon and Bob Huxford at page 79, Row 1, Item 3.
