From the Rossignol website: Designed for intermediate and developing skiers, the 2009 Exalt X8 performance ski boots are ideal for skiers looking for an easy-to-enter boot with high ski-ability. The cockpit in this Rossignol ski boot is made from stiff materials positioned in key zones - in the toe zone in contact with the binding toe piece for control, in the heel zone for support and under the foot arch for support. The cockpit stiffens the cuff on the sides of the Exalt X8 to boost edging power. Rossignol integrates elastomer at the back of the Exalt X8 and guarantees reactivity and progressive flex. Suggested retail $179. From me: Bought these late November ~ I was a beginner, but they just fit so well at the time. You know, I wear an 8.5 shoe, you'd think a 26.5 boot would be perfect. Nice boots really. But only recently I tried on a pair of Rossignol 27's ~ ooh la la. Now I wear a slightly heavier sock along with some cork insoles. The boots have been used maybe 15 times and have some scuffs on them (I admit I've tossed them in the back of the car enough times to produce the scuffs) . I don't know about where you live, but there's snow here! Woo hoo!
