1935 Round The Clock Cookery Book, edited by Mrs Wise. A fascinating compilation of recipes as well as an incredible insight to the life of the 30's housewife, unpolitically correct but charming. Recipes tend to be for the money conscious, Dehli Broth which consists of threepenny worth of bones, 4 leeks, salt and pepper (page 33). Also packed with original recipes for countless British classics. Fascinating sepia photographs and original advertisements from the time. The book is yellowed/brown with age around the edges. The spine is loose from the hard cover, but this could easily be mended. One page is missing from the index. Considering the age of the book I consider it to be in fair condition. I bought it in a second hand bookshop in the early eighties. Immediate dispatch, free postage ! Sold for around £50 by some UK retailers (at time of this listing), ask me if you'd like confirmation of this.
