Here's a REAL Historic Route 66" Road sign. It's a real highway sign on thick (.063) heavy gauge aluminum and is reflective. It has prepunched mounting holes in the aluminum, but the holes in the reflective sheeting on the face have not been punched out. (I carefully cut mine out with a utility knife) The sign face is in perfect condition with no blemishes at all. The back side will have some scuffs since it's a road sign, not a tourist trinket. The size is 12 inches by 18 inches so it's just right to display. Not huge, not tiny. It's the size of a typical "No Parking" sign.It is a real, reflective highway sign meeing DOT standards (Google: MUTCD) I got these from somone who bought a sealed box of them at a storage locker auction in a Route 66 city. I have a few left but once they are gone, that's it. They had been in storage for a while, and can not say for sure how old they actually are. I don't know their exact age or history, but the sealed box was fairly dusty. The signs inside the box look very fresh and like new and have never been mounted to a pole. Don't embarass yourself with some clearly fake tin reproduction that was made in China by the thousands. Your garage, office or the ceiling over your bed deserve the real thing.
