Feast your fingers on this old-fashioned authentic black ROYAL Typewriter which is in excellent condition, including the keys which are displayed in the second photo below. It was manufactured by Royal Typewriter Co., Inc. N.Y., and features a seal claiming it was made in the United States of America and protected by American and Foreign Patents. Vintage 1920s-1930s, these typewriters were manufactured as an upgrade to the earlier portable models w instead of a keyboard, t would be an index. An index typewriter has a chart on which all the characters appear, and a pointer or wheel that is used to select the desired one. Depression or manipulation of another lever or device printed the character. And back then, typewriters like this Royal model were the latest rage! This typewriter includes a ribbon and all its original keys and some of the greatest writers in history might even have made their claim to fame on this model. Perhaps you can, too!
