Royal Crown Derby Early c1820 Set of 3 Hand Painted Roses Plates Crown Mark Mouse over images to see larger version supersize image Description For auction is a set of 3 early plates manufactured by the world famous Derby factory in England. The items feature a beautiful hand painted pattern of roses tothe centre of each surrounded by gold patterning on a coral colored accent border. The plates have an early production date of and the hand painted red mark to the base would indicate manufacture between 1806 and 1825. They are in good display condition for their vintage but do have wear to the coral colour in patches to the central area of each plate as shown. There is also some wear to the gold gilt especially to the edge. In addition there is some allover age related crazing which is particularly evident to the back of the plates and central areas as shown (especially to one plate as shown). However despite these facors the plates still display nicely and are considered to be a fine examples of early Derby ceramics. Size Size - 22.2cm (8.75 inches) across. Markings Fully stamped to the bases with the early hand painted Derby mark (as shown in the attached photograph for your reference). I am currently selling other items of interest in my eBay store.
