This is one of the Dancers of the World collection figurines called " The Scottish Highland Dancer " HN2436, a limited edition of 750, produced in 1977. This particular figure has a special backstamp in that it shows the total produce but not it's individual number, implying it is a factory proof that may have been used for sales samples and/or market research purposes. The production pieces were individually numbered, and retailed for around $1000. Having said this, this is a chance to own a truly rare collectible, one of only a few having this unusual backstamp. "The Scottish Highland Dancer " is a beautiful figurine with a height of 9 3/4" . Designed by Peggy Davies, the sculping is wonderfully detailed - her red and black skirt is knee length - with red and white socks being knee length as well. Her beautiful red vest covers and compliments her white blouse. She is in the middle of a dance with her arms her head. Her beautiful brown hair is pulled off her shoulders into a bun. " The Scottish Highland Dancer " has been locked behind glass and is in like new condition with no chips, crazing, defects, or repairs whatsoever. My photos do not do this valuable young lady justice, but you will be extremely happy to see her when she arrives at your door. Don't pass up a chance to own a truly rare collectible prototype by Royal Doulton. read more
