The Plate is 10 1/2" in Diameter. The Border is Decorated with a number of Heraldic Shields and there's a Broad Gilded Rim. The Centre has a Study of William Duke of Normandy (later William the Conqueror) arriving with his Fleet of Ships at Pevensey near to the town of Hastings on 28th September 1066. He is surrounded by Norman Noblemen and Men at Arms as they prepare for the Invasion.
