I am pleased to be selling this equisite Royal Dux statue for my friend. The very beautifully detailed workmanship of Royal Dux is evident in this early 20th century piece. The statue is of a young man holding a lyre, as he would be playing, three white lioness following close by. The olive green tones of the drape and base are highlighted with touches of gilding. Gold belt. The lyre he holds is tan with goldtones. One of the lioness' looks up to him in adoration, the other two appear to be protecting him. The headband has a very light touch of pink to color it. All detailing done with light shades of tan. He stands 17 3/4" tall and the base at it's widest is 15 1/2". The markings on the bottom consist of the applied pink triangle with a letter E within it and around it "Royal Dux- Bohemia, the numbers 1741 and 10 are impressed on the bottom. Now the faults, the single lioness on the left has a small flat piece missing out of the back of her ear. See photo. T also appears to be several small flea bites along the edge of the base. Nothing else that I see. Thanks for looking. Smoke-free home. Any questions???? Please just email with ample time to answer.
