This is a Royal Worcester candle snuffer called Punch. These figural candle snuffers were first produced in the 1860's and were reproduced by Royal Worcester from 1976 from the original molds. Punch is a character from the Punch and Judy puppet shows that were a staple in English seaside resorts for over 200 years. He stands 3.6" tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Inside the base is the Royal Worcester backstamp with the name of the piece and the date 1976 .
