This is a Roycroft hand hammered lidded copper inkwell measuring 2 1/2" high X 3 3/4" at its widest. It has an aurora brown patina with very little wear. It has the Roycroft middle mark on the bottom. The glass insert is not removable and has a small chip on the glass rim. This was there when we acquired it over 20 years ago. This inkwell is the actual one shown on page 4 of 'More Roycroft Art Metal Price Guide' book by Kevin McConnell. He took pictures of a few pieces from our Roycroft collection to put in his 2nd Roycroft Price Guide book back in 1995. He describes it as:"This inkwell exhibits the ingenuity of the Roycroft craftsman. It is actually production inkwell #551 (see Book One, page 78), to which has been applied an additional layer of undulating copper, thus creating a new design."This has the Roycroft middle mark on the bottom (circa 1915 - 1925). It is a one-of-a-kind and a great example of this shape.Buyer pays $10.00 for shipping. We use PayPal only as payment method and we ship only in the Continental U.S.Thanks for looking !
