RR Donnelley & Sons "The English-Woman in America" The Lakeside Press Hardcover Book Christmas Edition Hard Find! "New in Shrink-wrap" The Lakeside Classics series was started in 1903 by Thomas E. Donnelley, then president of RR Donnelley & Sons Company and son of the founder. T.E. believed that a simple book, dignified and well designed, would be an appropriate representation of how RR Donnelley blends technology and craftsmanship to create lasting value. Subject matter tends tocover elements of American history. Many early volumes contained speeches andwritings of noted Americans, including Benjamin Franklin whose autobiography was published as the first Lakeside Classic. Lakeside Classics are never sold and are only made available to RR Donnelley employees, clients and others associated with the company. The week before Christmas, each employee is given one copy of that year's volume. As such, some of the volumes have become scarce, and are in demand on the collectors' market. Antiquarian bookstores often have a section devoted to Lakeside Classics, and early volumes command large sums from book collectors.” If you are interested in other Lakeside Press books to add to your collection, please visit my store.
