Lot A3950 According to The Franklin Mint User's Guide , "The National Executive Committee of the American Legion authorized this series of 24 medals to pay tribute to American military victories, and as a memorial to the men who earned them. The obverse of each medal depicts American forces in action, while the reverse carries a tactical map of the battle. Proof medals were only available to members of the American Legion."
