A large handsome Stoneware Rupert Spira Jug with personal markfrom his time at the Froyle Pottery near Farnham.Jug is 18 cms high,14 cms in diameter to handle end.AGreyish white glaze,slightly pitted.with impressionistic grass and leaves.Clearly shows a strong Michael Cardew influence,as he was one of Cardew's very last pupils at Wenford Bridge.A remarkable contrast to his later modernist work. In perfect condition.
