Original and large-size old-coloured copper engraving map by Sanson & Jaillot, printed 1695 AD Splendid map of the Russian Empire "Nova Russiae Albae sive Moscoviae ..." Cartographer: Nicolas Sanson ( 1600 - 1667 ) was a French cartographer, wrongly termed by some the creator of French geography. Alexis-Hubert Jaillot (1632-1712) was an French engineer, geographer, cartographer and printer in Paris. Description: We offer a decorative and old-coloured copper engraving map by Sanson & Jaillot. This detailed map shows the western Russian Empire with the adjacent areas of the Baltic states, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and the Caucasus Region. The map is decorated with a beautiful cartouche.
