These six porcelain collector's plates are from the Russian Legends Collection, which was the first series of limited-edition collector's porcelain plates to be created in Russia. Each plate depicts a scene from a specific Russian legend or fairy tale. Crafted in the age-old tradition of miniature painting on lacquer, the original miniature paintings for these plates were created by the artists of the village of Palekh (listed below, with the plate each designed), who are descendants of icon painters of medieval times.
