Russian mechanical 24-hour watch RAKETA Navy USSR Mechanical movement RAKETA 2623.H with 19 Ruby jewels. 24-hour dial. Central second hand. Rotating dial (bezel ring). Organic glass. Size: diameter is 40 mm, thickness is 11 mm. Comes with leather band. No papers, no box. The watch is running well and keeps correct time! Movement is in perfect condition! The serial number is # 209. Made in Russia (1992). Very rare! The Petrodvorets Watch Factory (RAKETA), located in Saint-Petersburg, was initially founded by Peter the Great in 1721 as a precious stone manufacture. It supplied precious stones for the crown of the Tzars, for Fabergé, Imperial palace, the Kremlin Stars and Lenin's mausoleum. From 1930's the factory started manufacturing rubies for watch mechanisms, then watches under famous soviet brands. In 1962 the factory created its own new brand RAKETA in honor of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
