~RW~ RAINBOW OBSIDIAN CARVING ~~ SINGLE HEART ~~ Album Album This is a polished RAINBOW OBSIDIAN CARVING of a SINGLE HEART. As shown on the back upper part it has some scratch marks. Rainbow Obsidian comes from Jalisco, Mexico, and is the most unusual and distinctive type of natural volcanic glass. Seen with an electron microscope, the layers of color in this material have been found to be rods of pyroxene. Light waves are scattered or absorbed according to the relative size of the rods in each layer, producing the color of that particular layer. Cleverly thought out angled cuts, applied with quite a bit of elbow grease, oriented to this iridescent banding that formed this MAGICAL SINGLE HEART. THIS WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL GIFT FOR THAT SPECIAL PERSON.!!!!!!!! This carving measures approximately 2 1/8" wide and 2 5/8" high and 1" thick.
