A really nice presentable set of MID 1800's Victorian ink bottles. All showing signs of the period of the Victorian stoneware manufacturing process that was once used to produce such collectable ink bottles . They were all made by hand, thrown on a potters wheel,glazed and fired in the kiln to give so many variations in style of glaze to their bodies hand packed and stacked by young children of the period,,( there was no quality control) All this make every one of this collectable ink bottles unique..so full of individual character.and charm..they are so tactile and rustic in feel and look..they would adorn a quality collection or display..they would brighten up the dulliest office desk/reception area.. when schooling was made law in Great Britain in the 1800';s..the need for ink was increased to cover all demands and so was the market to produce differant styles,shapes and designs of ink bottles to offer to the buying public..here we have 5 various designs of the period.. dating from 1860s/1880 period ranging in height from 5 inches down to 2 inches. all are clean and in a good condition. Tallest bottle is made with a wide mouth lip.. they are a variety of various sizes and shapes that were used during the period to store ink in.
