BELT & BUCKLE UNITED STATES This antique buckle is approx 3 1/2" x 2 1/8". There is a "8" stamped on the back. There are no other markings. I was told that this was Indian Wars era, but one ebayer said that it may be from the Civil War. Another ebayer told me that it is a newer piece and not an antique. I am no expert on these items so I am offering a full refund on this item if you buy it and are not 100% pleased. There is a silver wreath under the eagle. It has not been cleaned. There is wear to the leather belt but no holes or tears. A lot of the black finish has worn off. The belt is approx. 40" long. There is a name printed on the inside of the belt but the writing of the name is definitely newer than the belt. It was added long after the belt was made. I am not completely sure that the belt and buckle originally went together. But that is the way I purchased them. (Please see photos for more details).Additional photos available upon request.
