United States Marine Corps matchbook. This is a matchbook that was given out by the recruiting station named on the cover. I have google mapped this address and it no longer exists (in the street view, the address actually shows as the curb outside an apartment building). I also google mapped the sporting goods store that provided them to the Marines and that location is now an auction house. This matchbook is in outstanding condition! Never struck, all matches still inside, bright colors and super straight edges and sharp corners! This would pass any Marine Corps inspection (coming from a former Lcpl in the beloved Corps) Matchbook made by Superior Match Company, Chicago. Go Marines emblazoned on the top ov the cover. AND WWI ERA EGA ON COVER!!! Great piece for matchbook collectors or Marine Corps memorabelia collectors. Also great for folks who remember Johnson's Sporting goods in Des Plaines, IL. and would like a memento. Don't pass this up!! Take a look at the photos, only one of them is available (the other is for my Marine Corps Display!!) Thanks for looking, and Semper FI!!!
