The compasss is made out from brass, and have a very nice rich patina On back of compass is marked: "U.S.E.D. (engineering dept.) Creagh-Osborne Marching compass Mark VII Model-Sperry Gyroscope Co.-Brooklyn N.Y". Capitain Frank Osborne Creagh-Osborne was Superintendent of Compasses with the British Admiralty and inventor. Compass in good shape-appears to work. Case is in very good condition. Stiching and belt loop is intact. Great WW1 collectable item.
