When the NORMANDIE sailed on her maiden voyage on June 29, 1935 her first class passengers were presented with this DELUXE LARGE FORMAT "GREEN" BOOK detailing her lavish appointments. No expense was spared in a creating this masterpiece edition of her famous interiors, complete with colored plates of her grand rooms. Offered is this RARE "BIG GREEN BOOK" as it is commonly called. Designed by Jan Auvigne, the 71 page softbound book measures 11"x 14 1/4". Virtually every main interior room on the great liner is shown with complete descriptions. The luxury of her many appointments is truly breathtaking. Written completely in French, this great piece has become the standard of the great liner's quest for perfection in every aspect of her presentation. The book is in great shape for its age. T is some minor cover scuffing and edge wear but the interiors are fine and the volume is firmly bound. Unfortunately, a some point, t was a light diagonal crease that extends from the top left to the center right edge. This is somewaht apparent on the front cover and extends into the book but does not seriously detract from its elegance. A RARE volume not seen in any condition let alone as good as this one is.
