This is an Oil Painting From a Famous Republic Period CUBAN artist 'OSCAR FERNANDEZ MORERA' .He was Born October 31,1880 and died Jan. 5, 1946.both in the central Provincial city of Sancti Spiritus,CUBA..He was of a well off family and spent most of his life Painting the local surroundings of his home area of Central CUBA. His native city of Sancti Spiritus officially proclaimed him theif " Favorite Son " in 1943 and his Home is now a Museum and art Gallery that bears his name. . An important art school in CUBA is also named after him, " Academy of Fine Arts 'Oscar Fernandez Morera' in Trinidad, S.Spiritus ,CUBA.This painting is strtched at 25" X 19 1/2" and is in an old simple frame, possible original to the piece.
