Samuel Heath & Sons Duplex Oil Lamp This oil lamp is a good, practical example made in England by Samuel Heath and Sons . It's not overly ornate and while the lacquered finish is certainly showing some signs of age it is in good working order - though I would recommend replacing the wicks as they are now very old and dry. The sand filled, weighted base is 5 1/4" (13cm) Wide, the height to the top of the chimney is 20" (51cm) and from the base to the burner 10" (25.5cm). The globe is in very good, clean condition - the edge of the top opening is a little rough but I think it was manufactured like this. The chimney has a couple of small chips on the top rim and is impressed 'Fire Proof' around an anchor trade mark. I would prefer it if the successful bidder could pick this up as the glassware elements are obviously quite fragile, however, I will pack this very well in a large box with plenty of padding.
