Original Kunisada III (1848 - 1920) Japanese Woodblock print Samurai Attack Comments- A stunning and dynamic triptych print depicting a scene from a old tale. A samurai and two dignitaries stand before the massive stone steps of a temple building, snow falling through the scene. The samurai in the left panel lunges to attack, his katana high over his head. The man in the right panel prepares to draw his sword. The man in the middle jumps between the two, preventing bloodshed. Lovely black on black detail in the center man's kimono.
