Samurai 1/35th scale plastic kits Tamiya and Aoshima I think I bought these way back in the late 1970's or early 1980's, started them but never finished, so although I think all the parts are there, some are assembled/painted and some removed from sprue. Most are intact on sprue. The two Tamiya kits don't have instructions, but are simple enough to work out from the cover pictures. The Aoshima kit does have instructions, but they are in Japanese. Tamiya kit no.HM3501 Four figures from the historical range, depicting some of the "47 Samurai", retainers of Lord Asano who was ordered to commit suicide by the Shogun for drawing his sword against Lord Kira who had insulted him. The 47 took revenge in a daring attack on Lord Kira's castle, kiling him. The costumes and weapons are accurate for the particular men involved in this 1702AD adventure. They include an archer, a swordsman, a spearman and a samurai wearing a "fire helmet". Tamiya kit no.HM3502 Eight more figures from the same series, including one bearing a "dark lantern", one weilding a heavy wooden mallet for smashing in the gate, an elderly samuari with spear and others.
