Scrapbook for the Testimonial Dinner of the (apparently controversial) departure of San Diego "Let's Get it Done" Harbormaster Joe Brennan. Contains 38 signed letters from public leaders and businessmen, including representatives of United Airlines, San Diego Electric Railway, Maritime Research Society, and even one of the "goddam politicians", San Diego Mayor Harley E Knox! An important historical grouping from an event at San Diego's Cuyamaca Club, with many interesting California letterheads and original signatures. Truly a one-of-a-kind historical piece of San Diego. Also included is a printed article from the San Diego Reader (1992) entitled "Joe Brennan, San Diego's Let's Get it Done Harbormaster".The letters are in an attractive leather binder and are in good condition with some bleed through/discoloration of glue used to secure letters as shown, and some starting to detach. Two letters seem to have been removed.
