This is a Sandusky Tool Co. No. 74 Complex Wood Molding Plane Sandusky Tool Co. made planes in Sandusky, OH, from 1869 till the 1920s. This plane is in nice condition with a hand rubbed oil finish over a beach body. The plane is 9-3/8 inches long and 2 inches wide and cuts a 1-1/4 inch wide complex molding. The beach plane body is in nice condition with only staining on one side. The plane iron is shiny clean and ready to hone sharp for serious use. The front of the plane is marked "Sandusky Tool Co Ohio" along with "74" to denote the number of the plane in the Sandusky line. The back is marked "7/8" to denote the smallest side stock it will cut. A nice molding plane for display or serious use.
