Up for auction today is a STUNNING piece of pottery from Sandy Cole. This is such a fine piece of work that I had to struggle not to keep this one for myself. I have truly never seen any jug with more intricate detailing! This scary fellow is 5 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide. The glaze is a deep mulberry (a little more brownish than appears in the picture). The horns, teeth and eyes are unglazed with a nice contrast to the thick glaze. The brow has a furrowed line, t is a nicely detailed mustache and pointed beard. The brows are shaggy and sit low over the evil slanted eyes. The teeth are fanged and the ears are pointed and very detailed. The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. I wrap very well to ensure that your package arrives safely, but insurance is available on request and is suggested. I am always happy to combine shipping to give you the best rate.
