Sansui 4000 is a classic vintage solid-state stereo receiver (tuner-amplifier) made in Japan. The output power (RMS) is rated very conservatively at 45 Watt per channel. The receiver weighs about 35 lbs (quite a bit heavier than you would expect for 45 Watt per channel), which attests to its heavy-duty build quality and plenty of reserve headroom (power) to pump out sweet, sweet music.This particular Sansui 4000 comes in a great-looking wood case instead of the usual all-metal case. The wood case is not perfect due to age and use (a few minor scuffs mostly out of plain sight, one somewhat deep scratch on one side, and a few minor scratches), but I did strip the veneer topcoat and treated the wood with some oil and wax to restore the luster . Now the wood case is rich-looking and shiny, and the treatment really hides the defects, as you can see from the pictures. (If you are into utter perfection, you can make this wood case look absolutely perfect by doing a deeper re-finish job, since it has no major defects). The unit is completely clean and is in very good cosmetic shape (save for age-normal wear). All the knobs, buttons, and surfaces are clean and shiny and full of luster.
