is a SUPER hard to find Santa Fe Railroad Porcelain sign. It is shown on page 39 of Michael Bruner's book " Encyclopedia of Porcelain Enamel Advertising with price guide " 's what the book says about the sign. " THIS SANTA FE SIGN IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST EXAMPLES OF RAILROAD PORCELAIN ADVERTISING TO BE FOUND. " " IT MEASURES 23" X 14" AND DATES TO BEFORE THE TURN OF THE CENTURY!" He goes on to say it is marked at the bottom "B.S. CO. 41 STATE STREET CHICAGO & HARVEY IL." This sign has heavy shelving, and you can even feel the shelving at the bottom w the manufacturer's info is. It measures 23x14 and has some chips as shown. The sign has developed a slight curvature over the years on shows some light stress marks along the top. They can clearly be seen in the pictures and, are in fact, not as bad as they look in the pics. All gromets are t although 2 are quite loose. I have added a picture of the back. The color is kind of an off black, what I have been told are rack marks are visable and t are several spots of white porcelain "splatter" t also. T is some surface rust on the back but I have made NO attempt to clean it. I'm sure it would clean if the new owner wants to do it. Also on the back in each corner is a small flat lump about the size of a dime. It looks like the sign may have been welded to something at one time and later read more
