SINGLE PIECE GUITAR BODY BLANK AFRICAN SAPELE MAHOGANY Prime Grade Kiln Dried Hardwood Blank Reference Number: L1665 The photographs show both sides of the actual blank for sale in this listing. If required, the blank can be planed down to a different thickness and then re-sanded and micro-beveled without charge - if this is desired, please make this clear at the time of purchase. Dimensions: The approximate dimensions of the blank are as follows- 471mm x 375mm x 48mm or 18 1/2" x 14 3/4" x 1 7/8" Timber Species: Entandrophragma cylindricum. The species is distributed in East and particularly West Africa; principally Nigeria and the Gold and Ivory Coast regions. Sapele is one of the best mahogany type timbers; it is of a medium to dark red colour and finishes very well. Grading of Board: AAA Notes on board grading: There is no standard comprehensive grading classification across the industry and hence each supplier will visually grade to their own grading system. We use the grading system to reflect the inclusion or absence of defects in the timber (knots, shakes, splits, ingrown bark, checking etc.) but not to reflect the type of sawing. Nor does it relate to the colouration of the timber as this is very subjective - for some tastes, the uniqueness of interesting/unusual colouration in the grain adds to the appeal, whereas for others continuity of colour is more important. With this in mind, all our blanks are photographed from both sides to allow the grain to be seen clearly. Single Piece Guitar Body Blank Manufacture : As timber suppliers to some of the country's leading specialist guitar manufacturers, great care is taken in the production of single piece body blanks. Due to the scarcity of clean, defect free boards in the widths required for single piece blanks, the majority of body blanks are laminated from 2 or more sections. We take great care in selecting and grading these wide boards when they are available to produce single piece blanks. All our blanks are planed on the 2 wide faces to the thickness indicated in the listing, then sanded on these faces and micro-beveled on the edges before being graded. Delivery: Our guitar body blanks are carefully packaged and delivered throughout the mainland UK by carriers. The timber is always insured and so price has a baring on carriage cost. We will always combine carriage charges to give the best available rates on multiple purchases. Generally, a single blank will cost £8.75 for delivery, 2 blanks £11.75 and 3 blanks £13.75, but when making multiple purchases, please wait to receive an invoice detailing the total amount due before making payment. We have been importing, distributing, machining and manufacturing from quality worldwide hardwoods since 1970 and carry extensive stocks at our various premises in Staffordshire. We have an ethical purchasing policy ensuring that the natural environment, in particular the biodiversity and sustainable production of forests is considered of the utmost importance.
