Suberb Antique early Victorian Transferware Sauce Tureen but unfortunately with no lid but great to use / display and in a pattern called Devon and made by Minton & Boyle Staffordshire and dates c1840 and this mark for Minton of Minton & Boyle was only used from 1836 - 1841.... Great Tureen with lovely decoration and beautiful shades of blue and white in this great pattern and the pattern is very detailed with decoration all around the base of the tureen with central scene and very pretty border along with a great shape and superb handles...t is also furthur pattern inside the base of the tureen and nice antique dating 1840 and a rare and old pattern .... The Tureen measures 7 1/2" across inc handles and 4" high...... It is marked M & B and was early Minton mark for Minton & Boyle and above is the pattern name Devon and dates c1840.... It is in excellent condition with no cracks, has had a small chip on the base at the bottom and has been filled and levelled and displays and looks fine and a great old tureen base........
