For bidding is this Atkins #53 skew back handsaw. The #53 is considered one of atkins best upper end saws. It has the perfections apple wood tote which is angled such to allow a more comfortable and natural arm position while sawing.11 ppi with 25"toothline. Blade is straight with light patina staining and shallow pitting thruout. All teeth intact and shaped well. It is semi sharp.there is no etch. Atkins saws are known for their quality but the etchings not so much. The applewood tote is very nice. It has the beautiful floral carving on the tote. Assorted scratches and staining from use. Tote is tight to the plate. I Smoothed it and applied 3 coats of danish oil. It is 100% intact with no cracks, splits or chips.It is balanced beautifully. Fantastic user saw.
