The SCD intertwined monogram was used during 1900-1907, by the South Carolina State Dispensary System. By the turn of the 20th century the palmetto tree was no longer in use, and the variety of SC Dispensary bottles had lessened.By then thevast majority of marked containers were half and full pint, flattened, monogrammed "jojo" flasks and many fewer of the cylindrical quart of the type auctioned here. This recently cleaned example was blown by the Carolina Glass Company of Columbia, South Carolina and displays the CG Co mark above the base on the surface around from the monogram. A wrinkle in the glass is original to the blowing process and is not damage or a weakness. The mold number "40" appears on the bottom. Enjoy this large, clean quart.
