Today I am offering a wonderful Antique Apothecary Brass and Oak Scale---{I believe this scale was used to either weigh chemicals, pharmacueticals or gold--see pics and I'm sure you scale folks will know}---It has a die stamped date on the bottom of the scale---which is 6-13-1913---If you are looking at this auction---chances are you know more about antique scales than I do---I took loads of pictures--please supersize and view them---they will be your best description of all---if you have any questions please email before bidding---The piece is signed on a white plaque with the manufacturers name and address etc.---I did picture this so please see the picture for the information---it is also signed on the brass arms--"class 1 to weigh 1 oz."---{you should also be able to see this in the pictures}---I believe that most of the wood base is oak (?)---but it might have some other types of wood in it---{I'm not really sure--once again please view the pics}---the drawers are dove-tailed and the bottom of the drawer is shamford---which makes it quite elaborate and very well made---The drawer knob is original---condition is very good to excellent---original finish---however--just to be accurate with my description--t is some wear on the wood finish in front of the brass dishes---this is from w the hand would sit when putting something on read more
