"O" Scale Plasticville Residential and Commercial Structures O Scale: 5 Plasticville + 1 "Like" Plasticville Commercial and Residential Structures These Plasticville Models represent commercial structures as they appeared from the 1920's to late 1960's. The boxes are all gone, but we have the pieces, whose fit is easy to figure out - they won't go together the "wrong" way. Well, they WILL, physically go together, but the result will be all wrong. So put them together the "other way." See picture below. We assembled the models very loosely to be sure they'll fit together, and to make sure all major pieces are present, and to take pictures. You'll see some places where pieces don't fit tightly. That's just us. They WILL match up tightly when you do the job.Some of these are bit grubby and should be cleaned up.Consult main listing picture above, plus view at left and below to see what you get from various angles. All of these have minor appearance defects or a missing piece here and there; some you can ignore; others you can replace by fabricating something. This lot includes: 2 "ranch" type houses, one with a missing chimney. Should be easy enough to make another with a piece of balsa wood. One is a teal blue, the other is white. Except for color, they are identical - you can mix up the color scheme if you like. The white one has a melt spot on the back wall where we assume it was heated to bed the wall back straight. The previous owner got a bit aggressive. A fire department and a police department (2 structures). These are identical as to wall and roof size and fit, but design details (windows, doors) are different from one another to suit their purposes. These are missing details which went at the top of the roofs. A 3 unit "no tell motel." This is NOT Plasticville, but something else (don't know what). The walls fit together here by matching a rail to a channel, and sliding sections together vertically so the rail is trapped in the channel. An interlocking tower (or a "switch tower") which is missing the location name - that name no doubt being "Plasticville." Make one of your own and tuck it in the groove for it. Below you see a picture of how the walls fit together at the corners at left, then picture of the rear of the fire house and of the pieces that make the model. Above, left is the rear view of the police department. The parts are the same as the fire department, except for color and architectural details.At right is the signal tower and the parts that make it up.All of these kits are easy to assemble and can either be glued together for a permanent display or knocked down and store flat, which is how you'll receive them.These are not, and are not intended as, highly detailed prototypical models. But they may be upgraded by glazing the windows and adding details, plus some weathering.If you are an advanced modeler with an O Scale layout, you'll want to work your magic with paint, weathering and additional details to make them more realistic. Otherwise, if you are working on plans for a holiday layout that will be especially forgiving of youngsters, this is for you.
