____________________________ Description: Scammell Lamberton China Hotel St Nicholas 9-3/4" Dinner Plate. The St Nicholas Hotel was located in Springfield Illinois. This logo has been confirmed a 100% positive match to their establishment at the RWCN. This piece is topmarked with the St NH topmark and is marked on the bottom with the Scammell Ivory Lamberton Backstamp circa 1931-1954. Scammell purchased Maddock China in Trenton, NJ and produced some of the worlds finest restaurant china used in hotels, restaurants, diners, railroads, steamships and government. I have 6 of these plates so bid on one or all to save on shipping Dimensions(s): It measures about 9-3/4" wide Mark(s): It is marked on the bottom with the Scammell Ivory Lamberton Backstamp circa 1931-1954. Condition: It is in great condition with no chips or cracks and only light wear to the gold. Age: Circa 1930s to 1950s Notes: The original St. Nicholas Hotel, Springfield, Illinois, was built in 1855 by John D. Freedman and opened in 1857. It was located at 400 East Jefferson Street at the Southeast corner of Fourth and Jefferson just a few hundred feet from the rail line that served as the city’s front door and three blocks from the downtown State Capitol.
