Rare 1919* THE ILLUSTRATED FACT BOOK AND ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SAN ANTONIO *A.E. LuckFor your consideration is a lovely find: an unused 1919 Fact Book & Encyclopedia of San Antonio - a promotional publication by the Higher Publicity League of Texas, San Antonio . Soft chocolate covers with darker titles, including unused photograph/logo oval space on front cover. Held together with three clasps reinforced with cardboard strip.133 pages; each heavily illustrated, plus heavy point rear leaves. LArge 12.5" x 9.5"This was an advertisement to be handed to a friend who lived outside of Texas to consider moving their family and business to San Antonio. A bit of an anachronism now, it is still an interesting look at the portrayal of life in a growing southern city at the dawn of the 20th Century. Definitely a treasure trove of period photographs and archived drawings of San Antonio and the surrounding South Central area of Texas, early 1900's.Very Good Plus with straight soft covers, and unused interior/exterior. Chipping to edges front and rear cover - typical of 100 year old soft covers Quartos. Top front outer corner closed torn, but still attached. Top rear outer corner is likewise torn, but missing ( 1/2" open tear). Spine is chipped at bottom and cracked horizontally at mid fastener. All three original tab fasteners are present and sound.
