This auction is for an all original and highly desirable postwar Lionel D-192 Dealer Display Train Layout in Excellent (C7) condition. This remarkably preserved 8' x 8' operating display was created and produced by the Lionel Display Department in 1957 and was only available to approved Lionel retail outlets. This recently discovered treasure has been in storage since the early 1960's. According to Lionel display production records, only 225 of these displays were ever made; who knows how many survive today. Nothing on this piece has been repaired, repainted or replaced. This magnificent wood-frame layout comes with everything you see pictured. The following are a few of the layout's highlights: Undamaged original mountain Original painted roadbed and trim boards; modest wear Original grassed surfaces; not much wear; needs fresh lichen Original and complete wiring, transformers and controls Undamaged elevated roadbed All accessories, transformers and controllers are original to this display, in working condition and included in the sale.
