Thislarge example of cobalt blue decorated pottery is 10 ¾ in. high, with a 6 ½ in. diameter base, and has a diameter of about 7 in. at the largest part of the body. It is not marked but this Decorated Stoneware Pitcher shows a strong Remmey Pottery influence. It was found in the Philadelphia area and there are several known examples of their pottery with the same floral design and pitcher form. The upper section has a 3 ¼ in. tight hairline that does not extend into the rest of the body. There is also a 1 in. line at the top inside that does not show on the outside. The pitcher still rings when tapped. There are chips at the base edge and the top rim shows wear in the glaze (see photos). The decoration is bright and the glaze has the small marks usually found in old stoneware. I guarantee it to be old and as described.
