is a really unusual fruit jar for your collection. Scarce pint by Brighton, clear glass, sparkling clean. Fantastic and odd original clamp and lid with original red rubber gasket over a primitive ground lip. Embossings include BRIGHTON in plain block caps, an odd 1 on the bottom, and a lid that says Pat'd Sept. 20th 1898. I seem to remember reading that the company was in production only a short time. Graceful swirled lines noted in the glass. Some small flakes in the lip, typical for ground lip jars. The only real flaw is an internal crack w the clamp tightly gripped the body of the jar. It's more like a bruise--no glass is missing, and it looks stable. You can see it in the second photo. Removing the clamp was easy, as it has minimal rust/oxidation. 6 1/4" tall incl. clamp. Small reserve compared to Redbook's pricing suggestion! # 512 in the book. Add this unique little beauty to your collection today! Please write for questions, and thanks for stopping by.
