Scarce Coffin Pattern Fancy Handle Straight Razor DESCRIPTION: This auction is for the antique fancy handle straight razor that is referred to as the "coffin or Casket Razor." It was given this name because it looks like an early carved wooden coffin. Both the handles and blade in the razor are in excellent condition. The blade is stamped on the tang Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co Made in Germany. Out on the blade it is etched "Clean Shaver." There are some light age spots on the blade but overall it is very bright as you can see from the reflection of the camera in the blade. The pattern on the handle is the same on both sides. The blade swings freely up and down without dragging on the handle. The handle is not warped or bent. A very nice addition or upgrade for any collection. Please look at the photos. If you have questions, ask them. I will answer them all. I have tried to provide you different angles and lighting so that you see all aspects of the razor. I am offering this item for your collection with NO RESERVE; however, I will not allow it to be sniped at closing for nothing. So if you are a serious collector, I strongly recommend you step up and bid early, or I will remove the item and re-list it with a reserve.
