Scarce Roger Maris Sweet Spot Signed Baseball

Pricing & History
Sadly, it wasnâe(tm)t until the passing of the great Yankee slugger that the desire to own a Maris signature skyrocketed, leaving wanting collectors slugging it out for the few authentic examples which remained. Unusal sweet spot placement of a near perfect black ballpoint signature on an evenly toned Lee MacPhail baseball, tracing this signature to the 10 year span from 1974-1984. Though better examples do exist we believe this to be one of the finer mid-grade examples to have surfaced recently. It should be noted that our consignor obtained this ball in person, at which time he made a notation of the date on the side panel in his own hand which he later had removed. We note this only because while there has been a removal to the baseball it was not a signature removal which leaves this as a true single signed baseball. Per the request of James Spence Authentication we must offer the following disclaimer though we do believe this ball is a single signed example. "There has been some form of cleaning done to this ball, which may suggest an attempt to cover up or remove additional writing (i.e. salutation or personalization), or other signatures." All autographed lots come with a James Spence Authentication auction letter of authenticity unless noted
