The American Eagle series is a commemorative set of 5 knives honoring and portraying some of the Revolutionary War heroes who led the fight for independence for our country. These early leaders were fierce and determined like our national bird, the American Eagle. This is set #9296 of 12,000 created for the bicentenial. The display case that comes with the knives still has the plastic protective film on it. The knives have never been in the display. THE DISPLAY WITH THE KNIVES ALREADY MOUNTED IS NOT PART OF THIS AUCTION. It is a different set but was use to show what the knives would look like in the display. Each hand crafted knife has the set number and is in a box inside a white sleeve with the set number on the outside of the sleeve. Registration papers are also in the box. One knife, the white handled Patrick Henry knife has a crack near the center handle pin. I tried to show this is a picture. S.W E1 USA is on the tang of the large blade. On the front of the large blades are the names of 5 of our country's leaders; George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, and Nathan Hale. Each knife has a famous saying on the handle. 'Libery or Death' on the Patrick Henry knife. 'We the People' on the Thomas Jefferson. E Pluribus Unum' on the George Washington. 'One life to Give' on the Nathan Hale. 'Death to Oppressors' read more
