*** NO RESERVE! *** WE DO SHIPPING! *** NO RESERVE! *** Wonderful antique nautical maritime trunk, with a hand carved tall sailing ship design in the front panel. This one-of-a-kind find looks like it's been around for a hundred years or more, which it probably has. Found in an antiques store near the coast of Bar Harbor, Maine, about 20 years ago, this shabby chic old sailor's sea chest is in much the same rustic condition it was in when I acquired it. I will be sad to see it go, but now that my home is in the desert many miles from the ocean, it no longer fits with my décor. With its flat top and long, narrow size, this vintage piece is the perfect size for a coffee table: 44 ½" wide, 18" tall, and just 13 ½ deep; great for today's smaller living rooms. It would also make a handy blanket chest - it looks beautiful at the foot of an antique bed - or you can use it to store your delicate Christmas Ornaments... the possibilities are limited only by your imagination! This beautiful trunk is crafted of solid wood, I'm not sure what kind, possibly Elm or Pine, and aged with a wonderful natural patina. If you're looking for perfect, this is not it - this piece is definitely âeoeshabby chicâe and comes with all the scars and scrapes and dings and gouges that have occurred over many decades of use ( see photos ). The back is loose on one side, which looks to me like a very easy fix, but I'll leave that up to you; I personally love it just the way it is.
