Up for sale is one of my favorite amp heads, a mid 60's Silvertone model 1484 the "Twin Twelve"First off, I've used this amp a lot and it's never let me down and I've even gigged with it. The only issue with it is that channel 2 does not work, I don't know why and I haven't taken it apart to try to fix it because channel 1 works perfectly. When you plug into the channel 2 inputs you can hear the reverb pan in the back working but no sound comes out the speakers.Other than that the amp is in great shape, a very clean example of a close to 50 year old piece of tube amp history. The amp really sounds amazing, think early white stripes kind of thing. It has an amazing tube breakup when you crank it past 5 or so. Also, it has some new tubes, new russian power tubes 5881's (great for breakup), and replaced the preamp tube and the reverb tube." The 1484 was a twin-twelve 60-watt amp boasting "clear, mighty sound!" The catalog listing advertised this amp for guitar or bass usage, and had all the amenities you could want in a medium sized (and priced) package" - So just to clear up any possible confusion, Channel 1 works perfectly (which is the channel with no reverb/trem) and Channel 2 does not make sound other than in the reverb pan. This is not an issue for most players as the reverb in these units is really nothing to brag about.
